Anti-Harassment Policy

Sirens welcomes people of all genders and gender expressions, sexualities, races, colors, religions, creeds, abilities and neurodivergences, ages, body types and physical appearances, pregnancy and breastfeeding statuses, national origins, immigration statuses, veteran statuses, and identities. Our community represents a variety of viewpoints and perspectives, and during our conversations, will frequently disagree on, and even debate, certain topics. These conversations are a fundamental element of Sirens, and we expect that our community will keep these conversations, as well as all other behaviors and communications, respectful.

Sirens does not tolerate harassment. If we find in our sole discretion that you have violated this policy, we reserve the right to revoke your conference registration (without refund) and all access to Sirens (or, if applicable, prohibit you from registering for Sirens) and bar you from participating in our online forums and interacting with our social media accounts. Harassment includes, without limitation, verbal and written comments and/or displayed images (e.g., hate symbols, pornography) that are inappropriate, disrespectful, or oppressive with respect to marginalized identities; bullying, intimidation, threats, and other hostile conduct; and uninvited and/or unwelcome physical contact. If you experience any harassment while at Sirens, please notify our information desk or our Safety and Accessibility Coordinator as soon as you are able; if you experience any harassment online in connection with Sirens (e.g., on our message boards or forums), please notify our moderation team (if applicable) or email us at help@sirensconference.org as soon as you are able. If you are asked to stop any harassing behavior, you must comply immediately. We reserve our right to contact third-party services (e.g., social media platforms), the Omni New Haven, and the applicable authorities should your behavior warrant doing so.

We require that all Sirens community members review and comply with our Terms of Service in its entirety, but please note that it prohibits—both at Sirens and in all online contact involving Sirens in any way—all behavior and communications that are unlawful, threatening, harassing, abusive, obscene, libelous, defamatory, hateful, racially or ethnically derogatory, tortious, harmful or invasive of another’s privacy, or that stalk or otherwise harass anyone.

This version of the Anti-Harassment Policy is effective as of March 18, 2025. If you have any questions regarding our anti-harassment policy, please write us at legal@sirensconference.org.
